Crestwood Schnucks Recalls Ground Beef Sold Between 6 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on July 11

CRESTWOOD, Mo. – Schnuck Markets, Inc. has issued a recall on all ground beef sold between 6 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 11 at its Crestwood, Mo. store at 9540 Watson Road (63126).

Just before 10:30 a.m. this morning, a meat clerk noticed damage to the grinder which could have resulted in metal shavings in the grind.  All ground beef was immediately removed from the meat cases; the grinder was repaired, cleaned and sanitized and fresh ground beef was put out for sale.  A store representative says that there were approximately 12 packages of ground beef sold in that time period.

Any Crestwood Schnucks customer who purchased ground beef between 6:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 11 may return the product for a full refund or exchange.

This is an isolated incident and no other stores are involved in this recall.  This is a precautionary measure and there have been no customer reports.
