Mr. Dell Foods, Inc. Recalls All Schnucks-Brand Hash Brown Products

Products may be contaminated with Listeria

Mr. Dell Foods, Inc., of Kearney, Mo., has recalled all Schnucks-brand hash brown potato products because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Customers are encouraged to check for the following products:

Schnucks Shredded Hash Browns – 24 ounce     UPC: 41318-10116 Schnucks

Southern-Style Hash Browns – 32 ounce     UPC: 41318-10046

Schnucks Western-Style Potatoes – 28 ounce     UPC: 41318-10117

Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease.  Healthy people rarely contract listeriosis.  However, listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea.  Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, as well as serious and sometimes fatal infections in those with weakened immune systems, such as infants, the elderly and persons with HIV infection or undergoing chemotherapy.

Schnucks and Logli customers in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi may return the specified products to their nearest store for a full refund.

Customers with questions may contact Mr. Dell’s at 816-628-4644 or the Schnucks Consumer Affairs department at 314-994-4400 or 1-800-264-4400.
