Beech-Nut Recalls Pear Juice

            Beech-Nut Nutrition Corporation has issued a recall of 100% Pear Juice, from concentrate with vitamin C because of an investigation into the levels of arsenic in the product. 

            Schnucks and Logli customers are urged to check for the 32-ounce Beech-Nut Pear Juice with UPC: 05220000331.  There are several other varieties of Beech-Nut pear juice affected; however, this is the only product carried at Schnucks and Logli stores.

            Beech-Nut began discontinuing pear juice products in the U.S. in the fall of 2007 due to insufficient consumer demand.  However, to minimize confusion and ensure the protection of customers, Beech-Nut is asking for the return of all pear juice products.

            Beech-Nut is fully cooperating with the FDA on this matter.  There have been no reported illnesses or injuries to date.

            Schnucks and Logli customers in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi may return the specified product to their nearest store for a full refund.
