Adams Extract & Spice, LLC Announces Recall

Products may be contaminated with Salmonella

Adams Extract and Spice, LLC. is announcing a voluntary recall of products because they have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.  The products contain a specific lot of ground red pepper supplied by Van de Vries Spice Corporation that has tested positive for salmonella.

Salmonella is an organism which can cause infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.  Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.  No Illnesses have been reported to date.

Customers are urged to check for the following products: 

Adams Cayenne Pepper     2.61 oz.     UPC: 0-41313-02002

Adams Brisket Rub     13.47 oz.     UPC: 0-41313-02433

Adams Multi Seasoning     14.46 oz.     UPC: 0-41313-02487

Schnucks only carries these products at its 13 Mid-South stores in Tennessee and Mississippi and its Dorsett Road store in Maryland Heights, Mo.  Customers of these stores may return the specified products for a full refund.
