Con Agra Recalls Marie Callenders Cheesy Chicken and Rice
Product may be contaminated with Salmonella
Con Agra Foods is recalling Marie Callender’s Cheesy Chicken & Rice single-serve frozen entrees because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella chester. Consumption of food contaminated with Salmonella can cause salmonellosis, one of the most common bacterial foodborne illnesses.
Customers are urged to check for the product with UPC: 0-21131-50469. Schnucks and Logli customers in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi may return the specified product to their nearest store for a full refund.
While there is no definitive link between the recalled product and any illness, the company is acting in the interest of protecting public health and after being informed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of a possible association between the product and eight people in the U.S. who have been diagnosed with salmonellosis linked to Salmonella chester. Individuals concerned about an illness should contact a physician.
